The Finder of Lost Things

I’ve taken a big leap of faith and signed up to host a live weekly radio show (which gets turned into a podcast). It’s title — The Finder of Lost Things — is a phrase I received while walking the North Cornwall coastal path, near Tintagel which is the legendary birthplace of King Arthur. The phrase popped into my head and it made little sense until I turned the corner and came across a missing person’s poster. I knew then that being ‘The Finder of Lost Things’, and empowering others to find their own lost things, was my calling.

The first episode was recorded on 18th January 2021 when I was finally ready to step out into the limelight and begin my work. That first show marked 18 years since I last hugged my brother Christian ‘goodbye’ before he went on his fateful solo expedition to Africa. And also two years and one day since I was told that I needed to tell our extraordinary grief healing story to a wide audience.

You see, Christian disappeared while on his expedition. We lost him; we lost ourselves; we lost his story; we lost our future. For 12 long years we lived in deep and stagnant trauma, helpless and grief-stricken but never allowing the grief to really surface as there was always the hope that one day — one day — Christian might possibly re-appear.

Our full story has been told elsewhere, but as ‘The Finder of Lost Things’ phrase suggests, I did find Christian. We were able to retrace his final steps in Africa. We were able to find all our missing pieces — both of us. And, in turn, we have been able to help others find their missing pieces and heal and transform their deepest grief, their relationships and their lives.

Our podcast is our way of openly sharing what we’ve learnt along the way, what’s possible and introduce a grief ritual that truly and fully heals and transforms. You do not have to live forever within a grief cage; you can set yourself free. What we found out is far too important not to share — if you are feeling there are pieces missing in your life, do listen.
